What is Ahead?

ECOtality and our partners are continuing to test and develop Hydrality for use in mass transit applications, especially fleet vehicle usage. However, in the process of researching, developing and testing our technology, we found that there are potential and immediate commercial opportunities for Hydrality in large scale utility applications.

In addition to our ongoing research and development, ECOtality has recently teamed up with Arizona Public Service (APS) and the Department of Energy to test and explore the use of Hydrality in coal hydrogasification efforts. If successful, our participation in this project could unlock a method of cleanly burning coal, which will create methane that can be directly injected into existing natural gas pipelines while capturing and eliminating any harmful carbon emissions.
